WATER LEAK DIAGNOSTIC AGREEMENT

1. Process and Timing

1.1 APPOINTMENT DROP-OFF

Water leak diagnostic appointments begin at 9:00 AM on the scheduled date. Vehicles must be dropped off by 9:00 AM or at the scheduled appointment time. Timely drop-off ensures full diagnostic allocation.

1.2 AFTER-HOURS SERVICE

For client convenience, we offer a coded lockbox for after-hours vehicle pick-up or drop-off. While we recommend using our business hours whenever possible, this option provides flexibility when needed. Please contact us for instructions.

IMPORTANT: Vehicles left on-site after business hours are left at the owner’s discretion. KWR cannot be held responsible for damage or theft that occurs outside business hours.

1.3 PERSONAL ITEMS

Please remove all personal items from the vehicle prior to service. Unobstructed access is required to remove panels, seats, carpets, and interior components during diagnostics, repairs, and cleaning services. Any personal items left in the vehicle that interfere with service may be carefully bagged and relocated within the vehicle as necessary to complete the work. Water-damaged papers, towels, or items that obstruct visibility or service and cannot be salvaged may be disposed of during the repair or cleaning process.

This may include:

-Extended diagnostics

-Secondary leak tracing

-Follow-up rechecks

-Additional repair time

This policy does not apply to:

- New or unrelated leak sources not leaking in original testing

- Age-related deterioration

- Environmental wear

- Vehicles returning after 1 year from prior service

Leaks presenting more than 1 year after the last service are treated as new leaks and billed at 675 + tax.

Water leak repairs may require:

- Extended diagnostics

- Multiple appointments

- Secondary leak tracing

Each vehicle presents unique challenges, and no universal repair solution exists. KWR is committed to working toward a reasonable resolution, but does not guarantee single-visit correction in all cases.

5. VEHICLE PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF POLICY

5.1 Client Responsibility for Vehicle Drop-off and Pick-up

Clients are solely responsible for dropping off and picking up their vehicles at our facility. Due to the nature of water leak repairs, clients should be prepared to coordinate future appointments as necessary. It is expected that clients will make their own transportation arrangements after dropping off their vehicle and upon returning to pick it up upon completion of the service. This responsibility extends to repeat appointments needed to address any re-diagnostics of water leaks.

Please note that KWR does not provide pick-up and delivery services for any vehicles.

5.2 No Provision of Loaner or Rental Cars

KWR does not provide loaner or rental vehicles. Clients are advised to arrange for alternate transportation during the period their vehicle is in our care. Additionally, we do not have a waiting area, and clients are not permitted to wait in their vehicles during service. This policy helps us maintain focus on providing specialized and high-quality services while keeping operational costs manageable, allowing us to offer competitive pricing to our clients.

6. ELECTRICAL DAMAGE POLICY

6.1 Risk of Electrical Damage: Clients should be aware that water intrusion, retained moisture, and interior condensation can potentially lead to electrical damage within a vehicle. When water or elevated humidity reaches electrical components, it may cause corrosion, short circuits, malfunctions, warning lights, intermittent electrical behavior, or complete system failures.

Moisture does not need to be actively dripping onto a component to cause damage. Condensation within lighting assemblies, overhead consoles, fuse panels, wiring harnesses, control modules, radios, and under-dash components can create long-term electrical concerns. Some issues may not become apparent until after the vehicle has dried or after repairs have been completed.

KWR is not responsible for electrical malfunctions, warning lights, battery concerns, or system failures that arise as a result of prior or ongoing water intrusion, retained moisture, or condensation within the vehicle.

6.2 Our Inspection Approach: During our leak repair and inspection process, we are vigilant about checking for signs of water intrusion near electrical areas. If we observe any indications of water affecting electrical components, we will promptly notify you and recommend further actions. However, it is essential to understand that KWR is not an electrical specialist, and we are not responsible for issues related to electrical systems, even if we do not notify the customer of electrical damage. While we strive to notify customers if we observe damage during our initial inspection, our primary focus is on identifying and resolving water leaks.

6.3 Our Limitation on Electrical Work: Please note that while we diligently look for and address water leaks, KWR does not engage in the replacement or repair of electrical components damaged by water. Our expertise lies in identifying and fixing water leaks and related issues, not in electrical repair. We advise clients with electrical damage to consult a specialized auto-electrician for these specific needs.

6.4 Client Awareness and Responsibility: We encourage our clients to be proactive about their vehicle’s electrical health post-service, especially when water intrusion has occurred. If you notice any irregularities or issues with the electrical system after our service, it is crucial to seek assistance from a qualified automotive electrical technician promptly. Actively monitoring your vehicle’s electrical functionality after water-leak repairs is an important safety measure. We strongly recommend that clients remain vigilant and take the initiative by consulting a professional to ensure the ongoing health and safety of their vehicle’s electrical systems.

7. RE-DIAGNOSIS POLICY

For vehicles returning more than six months after prior repair:

A $275 re-diagnostic fee applies. If prior workmanship is determined to be at fault, this fee will be waived.

Leaks presenting more than 1 year after the last service are treated as new leaks and billed at 675 + tax.

8. ENGINE ISSUE POLICY

Our clients need to understand that KWR does not address or interact with vehicle engines during our repair process. Our expertise is focused on the body and interior of the vehicle, including water intrusion diagnostics and related repairs.

Consequently, we are not responsible for any engine or drivetrain issues that may arise after the vehicle leaves our shop. This includes, but is not limited to, check engine lights, warning indicators, battery concerns, or other dashboard alerts that may appear during or after service. In some cases, warning lights may illuminate due to pre-existing conditions, moisture-related electrical concerns, battery voltage fluctuations, or unrelated mechanical issues.

We recommend that clients monitor their vehicle’s engine performance after service and consult a certified mechanic or automotive technician for any engine-related or warning-light concerns. This disclosure ensures that our clients are aware of the scope of our services and the limitations of our engine maintenance and repair responsibilities.

9. POST SERVICE CARE & ENVIRONMENTAL DISCLOSURE

9.1 Car wash:

Automated car washes that use aggressive brushes can place significant stress on exterior components such as trim, fins, moldings, and light assemblies. KWR cannot guarantee alignment, sealing integrity, or component stability if the vehicle is taken through brush-style car washes following service.

KWR strongly recommends that the vehicle not be taken through any car wash for at least 48 hours after service to allow sealants to properly cure. Hand washing or touchless washes are recommended to help preserve repairs and exterior components.

9.2 Amplified Audio System Advisory:

Vehicles equipped with aftermarket audio systems, including subwoofers or high-output bass units, can experience increased vibration throughout the vehicle body. Excessive vibration may compromise seals, seams, gaskets, light housings, glass bonding, and body panels over time. KWR cannot guarantee against future water intrusion or seal failure in vehicles with amplified bass systems, as vibration can contribute to loosening or breakdown of sealing materials.

Thank you for your understanding and continued patronage.

This policy and warning are integral to our service commitment. We aim to ensure the highest care and safety for your vehicle while being transparent about the scope of our services at KWR.
